New free training available around suicide prevention and intervention

The Public Health Team at Blackburn with Darwen Council are offering fully funded places on their suicide prevention and intervention training courses.

These courses are invaluable to improving our knowledge and attitudes in relation to mental health and suicide prevention. They help our community build skills and confidence to be able to help those around them, access appropriate professional help.

Re-Align CIC are delivering the 2 ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills training) courses, one in March and one in May 2022. They have also planned a number of safeTALK courses, which stands for Suicide Alertness for Everyone.

There is also an offer of free online training from Zero Suicide Alliance, which has a 20 minute course on Suicide Awareness, which can be accessed at a time to suit you. For more information see their website: https://www.zerosuicidealliance.com/training
