Darwen’s Junior Library has got a new look for the New Year!

The children’s area has been given a lick of paint to brighten the area and add to the renovations kindly undertaken by the Friends of Darwen Library.

The makeover was unveiled at a special Christmas event for children with story time and crafts.

Councillor Jane Oates, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council’s Assistant Executive Member for Leisure and Culture joined the youngsters as well as Wordsworth – the mascot for the library.

Cllr Oates said:

“It’s amazing what difference a lick of paint can make!

“The junior library looks really bright and the improvements have helped create a lovely, vibrant space.

“That part of the library is really well used by our youngsters in the borough and so it’s fantastic that it’s been given a bit of a makeover just in time for the New Year.”
