This Easter Saturday, prepare to be entertained whilst you shop at Darwen Market!

On Saturday 20 April, Darwen Market will be welcoming celebrity singer Charlotte Jones who will be singing live from 11am to 3pm in the Annexe.

Charlotte, who has appeared on BBC1’s Celebrity MasterChef and Saturday Kitchen and will be sharing her extensive range of songs from the 1920’s to the present day.

Why not make a day of it, bring your friends, dress up in your finest attire and book a table for vintage cream teas.

In addition to this, Darwen Market is proud to be hosting a town wide school arts project. The competition, run by Darwen Rotary, will see over a thousand dragon’s eggs displayed in the market that have been designed by local young people.

The dragon’s eggs are to celebrate St. George’s Day and will be in the market for a week, so if you are not around on Saturday you have other opportunities to pop in and see them. The eggs will be judged and the winners announced on Saturday 27 April.

These events will top off what is expected to be another fantastic two weeks of Let’s Make Holiday activities at Blackburn and Darwen Markets.

The Easter Eggstravaganza – Mad Hatters Tea Party, which will take place on Thursday 18 April, 10:30am to 12:30pm at Darwen and Friday 19 April at Blackburn, 11:30am to 1:30pm, is an enchanting treat not to be missed.
