“Parents and little children love Louie!” Those of the words of our Public Health Development Manager Clare who has led on a new three-step approach to toilet training that’s being rolled out across the borough.
Louie Says… has been developed in partnership with specialists from the NHS East Lancashire Bladder and Bowel service, as well as early years and education professionals in BwD.
Designed to help parents, carers and early years staff with advice on helping little ones learn to use the loo, it’s part of the plan to reduce the number of children starting school in nappies.
Parents and carers with little ones can get copies of our Louie Says… toolkit from their health visitor or local Family Hub.
There’s also some Louie Says… info online
This content is another page in the Part of Your Story campaign, highlighting how Blackburn with Darwen Council supports residents throughout their lives – from registering a birth and accessing early years, education and care services, to support later in life.
