The Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen has cut the ribbon on the world’s first Paw Patrol brick trail in ‘Brickburn.’

Crowds gathered to watch on as the borough’s First Citizen was joined by fire pup Marshall at the official opening ceremony today (Friday) in The Mall.

More than 21 Paw Patrol models are now on show right across Blackburn town centre – with a competition to find the six naughty kittens in the market.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor for Blackburn with Darwen, Councillor Jim Shorrock said:

I am incredibly proud to be Mayor for the borough and this event is just one of the many examples of why.

Blackburn often leads the way in terms of creativity and innovation and it is continuing in that vein today with the launch of the world’s first Paw Patrol-themed brick mode trail right here in Blackburn town centre.

Councillor Shorrock wasn’t the only Mayor in town for the launch with models of Paw Patrol’s Mayor Goodway and Mayor Humdinger also on show!

The trail has been organised by Blackburn BID and its members were joined by the Mayor and the Chief Executive for Blackburn with Darwen Council, Denise Park, for a picture on the new Marshall selfie truck.

Catherine Price, Blackburn BID Manager, said:

From little ones to big kids, Brickburn will have something for all fans with these iconic brick models.

We hope families will enjoy exploring Blackburn town centre, visiting each PAW Patrol character on the trail, and helping us to locate each of these naughty kittens in Blackburn Market.

Brickburn’s PAW Patrol brick trail – presented and built by BRICKLIVE – will run until September 1st.
