The Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Councillor Brian Taylor, has recorded a video message to share Easter greetings with everyone who’ll be celebrating this weekend.
Easter is one of the most important festivals in the Christian calendar. It marks the end of Lent, a time of sacrifice and repentance, and represents rebirth and new beginnings as Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In his video message, the Mayor says:
Easter is such an important occasion in the Christian calendar. At Easter, Christians celebrate the new life of Jesus’s resurrection, following his crucifixion on Good Friday. This brings hope for new beginnings and a brighter future.
For Christians in our borough, I’m sure the Easter weekend will be a very special time spent with loved ones.
