The Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Council, Councillor Brian Taylor visited the cast of this year’s Cinderella pantomime at King George Hall this week… And before you say it, oh yes, he did!
The Mayor was thrilled to meet the cast and entered into the spirit of things by wearing a necklace of 9 carrots which was transformed into the Mayoral Chains by the Fairy Godmother. He also entered a water pistol duel and presented the glass slipper to Cinderella.
The Mayor commented,
This was one of the most fun things I have done since becoming Mayor. The cast and crew were amazing, and I really would urge people to get their tickets as they are selling very quickly.
Cinderella and Dandini, who are played by Blackburn born actors Chloe Carrington and Alex Bain, appeared on BBC Radio Lancashire where the ugly sisters phoned into the show and cajoled presenter Graham Liver into joining them on stage next week.
Cinderella is running at King George’s Hall until December 31st, with a range of different performance times to suit all families.
Make this year’s Christmas a memorable one, by taking advantage of a special discount code that reduces tickets to just £16 each – a saving of up to £6 per ticket.
