Staff from the local Macmillan Cancer Improvement Partnership will be hosting an event as part of Macmillan’s national ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’, this Wednesday September 23.

Taking place in Victoria Court in the Mall from 9-5pm, the event will feature a cake sale, tombola, competitions and much more. Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Neighbourhood Learning staff will also be on hand to host activities such as card making, jewellery making and henna painting.

The event will also focus on raising awareness of the Cancer Improvement Partnership in East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen; a pioneering three year programme to provide better care and support for cancer patients from the moment of diagnosis to beyond treatment.

It will also provide a chance for people to hear about the East Lancashire Cancer Experience Panel – which is recruiting volunteers who have first-hand experience of cancer so that they can shape the way care and support is delivered locally and in the future.

For more information about the event contact Nazmun Usman on 07803 203702.
