Blackburn with Darwen has plenty of things to shout about.
Millions of pounds worth of regeneration has taken place over recent years, it’s a base for many household names such as Graham & Brown and Crown Paints, there’s fantastic countryside just on the doorstep and there is a wealth of talented and creative people to name but a few of our assets.
Now the Local Strategic Partnership (made up of public, private and voluntary sector organisations) is working with Lancashire-based place specialists Thinking Place to create a brand identity for Blackburn with Darwen. This will be made up of a narrative or ‘story’ about Blackburn with Darwen and a design that can be used on buildings, vehicles and in advertising to promote the borough It will help local organisations including the Council, NHS, College and businesses to describe what we do well and sell the place to prospective investors, residents and visitors.
A stronger place identity will support the overall promotion of the place as somewhere to live, work and invest, celebrating everything from leisure, health and lifestyle to education and employment or development opportunities. It will help Blackburn with Darwen to be more successful, meaning more jobs, improved skills and more money in the local economy.
You can help to create Blackburn with Darwen’s story by taking part in this short survey and telling us what you like best about the borough – and what could be improved. The closing date is Thursday, January 28.
