Public meetings have been organised for anybody interested in the future of leisure provision in Blackburn with Darwen.
The hour long sessions will take place on Tuesday 20th October 6pm Shadsworth Leisure Centre Main Sports Hall and Thursday 22nd October 6pm Little Harwood Community Centre Main Hall. Booking is not necessary, though space is limited and entry will be on a first come basis.
Councillor Damian Talbot, the executive member for leisure, culture and young people, will attend both sessions which will involve a presentation and a question and answer session.
The review focuses on Daisyfield Pool and Shadsworth Leisure Centre though guarantees have already been given that all options will be exhausted before any decision around closure of the facilities takes place
The meetings are in addition to the online survey which can be found on the Council’s website or accessed via computers in both Shadsworth Leisure Centre and Daisyfield Pools.
Councillor Talbot said:
“We have been really pleased with the response to the appeal for people to give us their views and this is another way to get involved in the consultation process.”
