An event is being held on Thursday, September 28 at Blackburn Central Library to celebrate Lancashire Not Forgotten, a heritage and arts project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, for people living with dementia, and their families and carers.
The project is a collaboration between Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Lancashire County Council, and Blackpool Borough Council.
The project has captured people’s valuable memories of how they used to live, work and play.
Artists Morwenna Catt, Lyndsey Roe and Kate Eggleston-Wirtz have created innovative artworks informed by the memories.
A brand new website has also been created by digital artist Sarah Lippett and Northern Heart Films, creating a brand new website.
Dr Penny Foulds of Lancaster University will open the event at 11.30*, which will be followed by a short audio-visual journey through the website. A light buffet lunch is provided, along with musical entertainment, and displays of many photos from the project.
The event will be from 11am – 1.30pm.
If you wish to attend please RSVP by 15 September to the Project Officer: glynischarlton@gmail.com
