Vicky said she is grateful for the multiple nominations from local people and organisations making her a Coronation Champion and something she is really proud of, she said:

It was an unforgettable experience, the concert was wonderful and is something that I won’t forget.  Sometimes volunteering can feel like a thankless task but being recognised made me feel appreciated for the small things that make a real difference.

Coun McGurk was able to travel from Blackburn along with her husband George to celebrate being 1 in 500 national Coronation Champions, she added:

It was an event where everyone came together and regardless of your views on the Royal Family, it was amazing to see such a good job to recognise the Community Champions. It was an amazing experience and the concert was just the icing on the cake – the nominations mean more to me.
