Hundreds of you have already started to share your incredible memories of watching bands and artists at King George’s Hall as part of a once in a lifetime opportunity to win tickets to its VIP 100th birthday party

Some of the biggest artists across the planet have walked through the doors of King George’s Hall.

And we’re asking you to share your own stories and memories of the Hall to be in with a chance of winning VIP tickets to an exclusive 100th anniversary birthday celebration.

The red carpet party night, next Thursday, October 21, marks the opening of the historic hall exactly 100 years ago.

It will feature music played throughout the decades, a classical performance, comedy and chat, all hosted by the BBCs brilliant weatherman Owain Wyn Evans.

The best stories may even feature as part of a retrospective project showcasing 100 years of the Hall – so make them interesting!

When Blackburn’s grand new concert hall opened in 1921 it initially hosted grand musical soirees, Masonic balls and orchestral concerts – and 100 years later it is still centre stage in the borough’s cultural life.

Audiences have been entertained by the likes of David Bowie, Queen, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Blondie, Bryan Adams, Take That, Shirley Bassey, Billy Connolly, the Stereophonics and Little Richard, and it is home to the Halle Orchestra.

You can win tickets by heading over to the Council’s Facebook page and commenting on, liking and sharing this post.
