Fireworks will fly this weekend as Blackburn celebrates winning the national Great British High Street awards with a grand finale Christmas event for all the family.
Joseph’s Amazing Camels and three handlers dressed as kings will be on Ainsworth Street from 10.30am – 3pm.
Lantern carriers from The Bureau, bands, giant illuminated birds, dancers and performers will gather from 4pm ready to set off at 4.30pm.
The lantern parade will travel from Ainsworth Street to the Town Hall, down King William Street to Gladstone’s statue to Northgate and then onto Darwen Street arriving at approximately 5.45pm.
A fantastic choreographed firework display with Christmas music will follow at 5.45pm.
The Community Carol Service starts at 6.15pm in the Cathedral, whilst fire performances, music and dancing continues on Church Street until 7pm
The Blackburn Community Carol Service at Blackburn Cathedral is in association with Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackburn Business Improvement District, BBC Radio Lancashire & Lancashire Telegraph.
