This weekend join Santa for a dash around Corporation Park in aid of the conservatory appeal.
Organised by the Blackburn West Healthy Community Partnership Group (HCP) and Corporation Park Supporters Group, the Santa Dash will take place in the park this Sunday (December 11).
There are two activities organised with the 400 metre mini dash for under 12’s starting at 10.30am. All participants will receive medals.
The 5K Santa Dash starts at 11am and everyone taking part will get a free santa suit, a medal, mince pie and glass of sherry on completion.
So far 120 people have registered for the Dash which will consist of three laps of the Park.
The mayor Councillor, Hussain Akhtar, will be there to start the race and all proceeds from the £2 entrance fee will go to the Corporation Park Conservatory appeal.
Visitors can also enjoy the Corporation Park Supporters Group’s ‘Celebrate Christmas’ event from midday until 3pm with Santa in his grotto, performances by the Blackburn Peoples Choir, Blowjangles and local school choirs.
In addition there will be a range of other activities and refreshments available at the free event.
