Gin sales for the Mayor’s charity have gone through the roof – meaning a third batch of the limited edition spirit is currently in production and will be available at the end of November in time for Christmas!
Blackburn with Darwen Mayor, Cllr Jim Shorrock, a former publican himself, said:
The second batch has almost sold out, I know quite a few people are re-ordering as they want to keep one unopened for posterity. The Gift Bag and Certificate turn it into a gift and not just a bottle of spirits.
I’m over the moon with how it’s gone down and people are telling me how good it is. They make great Christmas presents and all the proceeds go to the mayor’s charities.”
The mayor’s charities this year are: THOMAS, Derian House Children’s Hospice, Every Action has Consequences, and Youth Action.
Almost £1,000 has already been raised from the sales alone.
Jim is hoping to increase this before his mayoral year comes to an end.
The Gin – named Cotton Borough Gin – comes with its own unique Certificate of authentication and a branded paper gift bag. You can also buy the drink at Shh Bar in Blackburn Town Centre.
