The Council is aware there is a travellers encampment at Witton Park. We have been liaising with the travellers, police and our legal department.
In accordance with our Traveller Protocol, steps are underway to serve the remaining travellers with a legal notice to leave, with a view to issuing Court proceedings for possession if necessary.
The police also have legislative powers to move the travellers on, in certain circumstances.
