More local restaurants and businesses have been given ‘Recipe 4 Health’ accreditation for offering healthy food options.
The latest round of awards were presented by the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Cllr Jim Shorrock, at a special event on Tuesday, October 29.
The Recipe 4 Health scheme is part of a Public Health drive for businesses to help with tackling ill-health and obesity in society, and is also a strand of the Childhood Obesity Trailblazer work across Pennine.
Newly accredited ‘Recipe 4 Health’ businesses are Caesars Pizza; Balanced Foods; Re Fresh Meal Prep; Birch Hall Nursing Home; Stansfeld Centre; Chimneys guest house and Eastern Spice.
Cllr Damian Talbot, Executive Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said:
The campaign is a brilliant way to promote healthy eating and smart food choices all across the borough. It’s fantastic that even more places are signing up to it. I want to congratulate everyone who has received the Recipe 4 Health award. They should all be celebrated for boosting their healthier options that encourage people of all ages across the borough to pursue a healthier lifestyle.
