Have your say on the draft priorities for Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Partnership

People in Blackburn and Darwen are being asked for their views on the priorities of a new local health partnership.

Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) is made up of local government, NHS and other partners such as business, education, Healthwatch and voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations, working together to address the health, social care and public health needs of local communities and make sure the public’s voice is at the heart of decision making.

As a statutory committee, Lancashire and South Cumbria ICP must develop an integrated care strategy by the end of December, which will focus on complex issues that can only be solved by the organisations within the partnership working together.

The partnership, using data and insight from local authorities and the Health Equity Commission, has proposed six draft priorities for the integrated care strategy which are listed below:

  • Supporting children and their families in the first 1,000 days of a child’s life
  • Supporting people into employment and staying in work
  • Large scale organisations’ role in social and economic development
  • Preventing ill health and tackling health inequalities
  • High quality care that supports people to stay well in their own home
  • Supporting people to choose their preferred place of death

To help the partnership to agree a smaller number of final priorities, a short survey has been developed to gather feedback from people living and working in Lancashire and South Cumbria.

The survey asks participants to rank the priorities in order of importance, propose what issues within each priority are most important and offer any other feedback based on the draft priorities.

The closing date for the survey is Monday,  October 24. The ICP committee will review the results of the engagement to inform the final integrated care strategy, which will be launched in early 2023.
