Guess who is coming to Blackburn Market? (and it’s not Santa)

Titan the Robot is visiting Blackburn Market for a pre-Christmas treat.

The famous robot will be doing some Christmas shopping at Blackburn Market on Sunday, December 13. Titan will also be joined  by Darth Maul of  Star Wars fame

Titan and Darth will put on displays for shoppers and show them some moves at the special appearances, which will take place at 12pm, 1.30pm and 3pm.

Since his creation in 2007, Titan has become something of a celebrity, appearing at premieres with Hugh Jackman, at the Glastonbury Festival, The Gadget Show Live, dancing onstage with Rihanna and Basement Jaxx and making an appearance at Wembley Stadium.

Make sure you don’t miss out. The shows are all free and everyone is welcome.

And on Saturday, December 12 there’ll be a giant Santa Claus’ chair on Church Street that people can sit on and have their photo taken from 10am.  At 11am the man himself will arrive with his reindeer helpers.

On Saturday, December 19 there will also be a Christmas Grotto from Wellybobs Farm on Church Street.

Councillor Phil Riley, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, said:

It is usually Santa who pays people a visit at this time of year so Titan dropping in to Blackburn Market is a bit of a surprise but will be exciting! I hope people come along to the market to meet Titan and do some Christmas present and food shopping at the same time – Blackburn Market has everything you need for the festive season.”
