Businesses have been given a rare opportunity to learn more about growing their business in Southern Asia.
Blackburn with Darwen Council has invited UK Trade and Investment to host a showcase event in the borough for companies to learn about opportunities in this exciting region.
It is real coup for businesses as it is the only event of its kind taking place in the Lancashire.
Graham and Brown Design Centre in Stanley Street, Blackburn is the venue on Thursday, April 10th from 10am until 2.30pm.
Businesses will have the opportunity to learn more about winning contracts in Southern Asia, why it is commercially attractive and how best to succeed there.
Experienced speakers will be on hand to present how best to go about securing work in the area for the first time and the range of possible benefits.
These include Dr Moneeb Awan, MD at e-Say Solutions in Pakistan, Steve Toogood from UK India Business Council and Alex Marshall from Clarke Energy.
There will also be a panel discussion looking at logistics, accounting, legal structures, finance and UK export finance.
Councillor Maureen Bateson, Executive Member for Regeneration, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local companies to learn more about the opportunities for doing business in Southern Asia. With our rich Asian heritage, it makes sense for local firms to take advantage of the range of exciting benefits available.”
The event has been organised to mark UKTI’s Export Week which will run from April 7 to 11.
