Green fingered residents meet the Mayor

The Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Councillor Faryad Hussain, met with keen gardeners from Turton Tower to congratulate them on a recent accolade.

The Victoria Garden team visited the Mayor’s Parlour for afternoon tea in recognition of them winning Best in Show the recent Dig the City in Manchester.

The Mayor met the gardeners with his Mayoress. He said:

I was delighted to meet the team. They have done an excellent job. Winning this accolade is good for the borough and it is right we should celebrate them.
