X Factor rising star Grace Davies is coming home to showcase Blackburn for the hit TV show.
The 20-year-old has wowed the judges on the ITV show and has been chosen for the next round at the judge’s houses. If she is successful she will make it through to the famous live shows.
To mark her progress on the show, the X factor film crew will be visiting Blackburn landmarks, coming to the Cathedral Quarter, Witton Park, and the canal near Daisyfield Mill.
The former warehouse worker, who currently lives in Langho with her parents, has been praised by the judges from her first audition, with Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne describing her as ‘pure talent’.
Grace also used to work at The Railway in Pleasington, where she regularly got up to sing.
Grace has impressed the judging panel with songs she has written herself and her piano playing, and has been a big hit with viewers. Her performances have nearly three million views on YouTube so far.
Councillor Mohammed Khan, Leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council, said:
We are all incredibly proud of Grace here, we have been following her progress and she is doing brilliantly, she is a very talented young woman.
It is great she is coming back home and I am sure she will be given a very warm welcome. We wish her the very best of luck as the competition continues.”
