The deadline to register to vote in this year’s local elections is fast approaching, but you can do it in a matter of minutes.

Voters who want to have their say in this year’s local elections have until Friday 12 April to register to vote.

When you register and vote, you get the chance to have a major influence in decisions that affect you.

The elections for 17 Council seats take place on Thursday 2 May. For more information visit the Council website.

Denise Park, Returning Officer for Blackburn with Darwen, said:

These elections are your chance to make your voice heard and have a say on issues that matter to you in your area. Voting is a vital part of an open and democratic society and I would urge everyone who hasn’t registered yet to take five minutes out of their day and help to make a difference.”
