Blackburn Market is raffling off a white chocolate snowman weighing around 25kg in order to help raise money towards treatment for five year-old Theo Power.

Theo from Lower Darwen has Neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer which is the most common form of the disease affecting children under five years old.

The grandson of Council housing support officer Michelle Jordan, Theo needs a range of clinical treatments not currently available in the UK, so he may need to receive treatment abroad.

As a result his family are trying to raise £250,000 for life saving treatment in America.

“The generous support we’ve had from the people of Blackburn with Darwen continues to amaze us,” said Michelle.

“And something like this take a lot of time and effort to organise it’s just brilliant and completely overwhelming.”

The giant chocolate is currently on display on the market (between Greens’ and Pickups’ stalls) and the raffle will be drawn on December 21. Tickets are £1 and £5 for a strip and available from the tourist information centre.
