A local project that which aims to tackle social isolation with delicious meals has been awarded five stars during their Food Business Hygiene Inspection!
The Curry Club at Little Harwood Community Centre was set-up in 2005 to support local people by giving them somewhere they could go to eat and meet new people.
Each Monday they provide freshly cooked food that is ‘all you can eat’. You can even get food to take home for the rest of the week!
The group is centred on good food and people, and allows everyone who joins to build vital friendships in the local area.
Councillor Damian Talbot, Executive Member for Public Health & Wellbeing, said:
Congratulations to The Curry Club for receiving five stars in their hygiene inspection. It’s fantastic to see the community coming together to support each other with food and good conversation. Combatting social isolation is really important and I hope they can continue their great work.
The Curry Club also won the Community Group of the Year award at the Fusion Awards earlier this year.
You can join The Curry Club every Monday lunchtime at Little Harwood Community Centre for just £3.
