A three-day recruitment event will be hosted by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and Blackburn College in February 2025.
The free event is open to anyone who is currently looking for work or interested in changing careers.
Get Job Ready 2025 will be held at Blackburn Leisure Centre and Blackburn Library with a host of local employers answering questions and offering advice.
Job seekers will get the chance to speak to experts, take part in workshops and enhance their CV to get the job they’re looking for on 11th, 12th and 13th February 2025.
Councillor Phil Riley, Leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council said:

We are committed to supporting our community by connecting local residents with meaningful career opportunities.
This event will not only help people find work but also strengthen the local economy by fostering growth and employment across all sectors.
The event details are as follows:
Day 1 – Tuesday 11th February 2025 Get Work Ready (10:00-15:00)
Venue: Blackburn Central Library. Town Hall St, Blackburn BB2 1AG
A day dedicated to get you work ready. Take part in workshops that will help you get that job, learn interview techniques, update and revise your CV, and get ready for Day 2 and 3 where we will use these skills and knowledge to apply for jobs.
We will also have the following employment support services:
Employment Support
We provide support to residents in Blackburn and Darwen for people aged 16-65, who are unemployed (this includes no zero hours contract) and have a legal right to live and work in the UK. Employability mentoring | Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council
Adult Learning

NCS Provides careers information, advice and guidance to anyone who is aged 18+. The NCS can help you with your career, learning and training choices and can help you make decisions at all stages in your career. Find out more

Day 2 – Wednesday 12th February 2025: Jobs & Skills Fair (10:00-15:00)
Venue: Blackburn College, Blackburn Sports and Leisure Centre, Feilden St, Blackburn BB2 1LQ
An opportunity to connect with local retail and hospitality employers and apply for the job you want. Utilise the knowledge gained on Day 1 to actively pursue your desired employment. Support will be available to complete application forms. There will be a number of varied roles on offer, from casuals to part-time and full-time.
