Let’s Make at Blackburn and Darwen Markets

Calling all parents, grandparents, childminders and carers: free holiday activities are back at Blackburn and Darwen Markets.

Blackburn with Darwen Council has partnered with the award winning Crafty Vintage to present Let’s Make, an exciting and engaging programme of free holiday activities to entertain you and your family this February Half Term, from Monday 18 – Friday 22 February, 10am – 2pm.

The activities are designed to get young people involved in music, arts, kid’s crafts and be entertained by a variety of hand selected tutors, artists and performers.

You will be able to grab a coffee and possibly even a sweet treat whilst you watch your little ones be creative, relax, learn, laugh, make friends and have fun. Parents and guardians are welcome to join it.

Councillor Phil Riley, Executive Member for Regeneration, said:

Our markets are at the heart of the community and serve as a fantastic meeting place. I am pleased that we are able to provide free holiday activity for families this February. There is a wide range of stalls at both markets too; you can support our traders by shopping whilst you are there

Laura Johnson, Crafty Vintage said:

I loved being involved in holiday activities in Darwen last year. It is very rewarding to see the joy on the faces of children when they achieve or create something new. In partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, we are expanding the programme to cover Blackburn Market too.

“Expect to see Magic Shows, Face painting, Craft activities, Caricaturist, Pottery Making on a potter’s wheel and a Story Mixing Station at both Markets.”

The programme will run from 10am – 2pm Monday to Friday at Blackburn Market and 10am – 2pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Darwen Market.
