Have you been enjoying the ‘Let’s Make’ sessions at Blackburn and Darwen Markets this summer?
If so, we’ve got great news for you!
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, in collaboration with Crafty Vintage, are planning a spectacular finale to the summer holiday events programme with a free family fun day on Saturday, August 31st.
Hosted at the brand new Darwen Market Square, there’ll be everything from magic shows to a silent disco, Magical Story Jars, face painting, entertainment provided by Darwen School of Music and performances from a local singer and dance groups.
While there, youngsters will be able to create their own masterpieces with craft sessions By Erin or they can take a turn on the potter’s wheel.
And, there’s also a street dance workshop!
Councillor Phil Riley, Executive Member for Growth and Development at Blackburn with Darwen Council, said:
This celebratory event rounds up a great summer holiday programme at Blackburn and Darwen Markets.
The free activities for families in the borough have been well attended and the feedback has been extremely positive.
It’ll be great to see the new Market Square used for this final session and I hope families will enjoy using the new events space.
A variety of crafters and makers will also be demonstrating their skills at the event, along with a collection of select traders selling handmade goods and artisan food.
This will complement the fantastic offer within Darwen Market – which will be open throughout the day.
Laura Johnson, Owner of Crafty Vintage said:
I’m really looking forward to Let’s Make at Market Square.
The Let’s Make holiday programme is going so well that we wanted to create a fitting finish, focusing on sharing and learning new skills whilst having lots of fun.
I look forward to seeing families from all over the area coming along to join in and to really see what Darwen has to offer. The event is jam packed with content and there is a wealth of local talent on show too.
The activities run will between 11am and 4pm in Darwen Market and on the Market Square.
