A free ‘WARM Matters’ event is set to be held in Blackburn to help residents with the impacts of the cost-of-living and energy crisis.
At the event at Blackburn Library on February 18th, residents will be able to find out more about the support available to them.
It’s being hosted by Cosy Homes in Lancashire – of which Blackburn with Darwen Council is a partner.
The organisation provides free installations of heating, insulation, low-carbon renewable technologies and more.
On the day, there’ll also be the chance to speak to a wide range of charities and organisations which can provide help and assistance.
Everyone who attends will be entered into a free prize draw with everything from air fryers to slow cookers and hot water bottles up for grabs.
Councillor Quesir Mahmood, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Growth and Development said:
“We’re really looking forward to hosting this WARM Matters event here in the borough.
“It’s a way for residents to find out more about the help and support available to them – all in one place and in-person too.
“We know that we have residents who are sadly struggling with the impacts of the energy crisis and the cost-of-living crisis too and we want to do all we can to ensure they can access the support available.
“Cosy Homes is one of the best consortiums of its type in the whole country – helping people to make their homes warmer and greener too.
“Everyone is welcome to this event – please do mention it to any family or friends who may benefit.”
Visitors can drop in to the library, in Town Hall Street, between 1pm and 4pm.
