The New Year offers new opportunity, as Blackburn, Darwen and Mill Hill libraries launch a Community Living Room programme with free creative workshop sessions.
From 19th January, and for six weeks, a range of arts-based activities will be offered, including salsa, ceramics, lampshade making and photography.
Resolve to do something different, call in and take part in these weekly events. It is a chance to have fun and make new friends, as well as learn new things.
The Community Living Room session times are as follows:
- Darwen Library: 19th January to 23rd February 2015 – every Monday 10.00am to 12 Noon
- Blackburn Central Library: 19th January to 23rd February 2015 – every Monday 3.00pm to 5.00pm
- Mill Hill Library: 20th January to 24th February 2015 – every Tuesday 10.00am to 12 Noon
The programme is initially aimed at the over 50s and activities will run, throughout 2015, with the aim of establishing socially active groups, in welcoming library spaces, where members can explore shared creative interests.
The Community Living Room project is funded by Arts Council England and is delivered by Blackburn with Darwen Council in partnership with Age UK, NHS Blackburn and Action Factory Community Arts Ltd.
