More than 3,000 people attended the 19th annual Blackburn with Darwen Football Festival at Pleasington Playing Fields.
The popular pre-season event is one of the North West’s biggest football festivals and around 70 teams took part on Saturday and Sunday (August 25 and 26).
Organised by Blackburn with Darwen Council and sponsored by Forbes Solicitors, football fans enjoyed hundreds of games from under 7s to under 16s.
Spectators included Blackburn with Darwen Council Leader Mohammed Khan who said:
It was wonderful to see so many young from Blackburn and Darwen – and all over the country – taking part.
It was a very successful event and a huge thanks must go to all our staff for their hard work in organising the festival, as well as all the coaches, teams and parents who supported the event.
