It’s been a glorious summer of football – and the party atmosphere is set to continue at Ewood Park.
Blackburn Rovers will celebrate its diverse community at the first ever #OneRovers Festival on Saturday, July 28.
The event, which is supported by Blackburn with Darwen Council, kicks off at 1pm and culminates with a performance by 2017 BBC Music Ambassador Zack Knight.
There will also be international food stalls, a fashion show, fairground rides, face-painting and henna designs, as well as a strong sporting theme with stadium tours and football activities throughout the afternoon.
The event follows the successful #OneRovers Day in January and Rovers’ general manager, Lynsey Talbot, said:
The club recognise that we have a significant role to play in bringing the community together.
We have made great strides in celebrating diversity through the power of football and under the #OneRovers banner. The festival will be a multi-cultural event and will reinforce our position at the heart of the community.
The festival will be the first high-profile event held by Rovers since it was named the English Football League Family Club of the Year in April.
Blackburn with Darwen Council Leader Mohammed Khan, added:
Football is great at bringing people together as the brilliant support for England at the World Cup proved.
This will be a fantastic fun event for all the family and I would urge people to go along and show the same great support for their local team.
General tickets cost £5, under 12s free with a paying adult. Front of stage tickets for Zack Knight are £10.
Tickets are available from 01254 372000 (select option 2) or the club’s Roverstore.
