On the hunt for something fun to do this half term? Take a look at the fabulous what’s on guide for Blackburn and Darwen.

Libraries:

In Blackburn with Darwen we have 5 libraries with over 10,000 books for you to choose from. Not only do they have a range of literature available to the public, but they are also hosting family fun activities over the half term week.

Darwen Library:

  • Lego Club – May 25th 10:30am to 1:30pm
  • Story Time – May 25th 11am
  • Let’s create together- drawing, colouring and crafts – May 29th 10am to 4pm
  • RE: FRESH Local History Walk- meet in the town square and finish at the library – May 29th 11am to 11:45am
  • Story and Rhyme Time – May 29th 2pm
  • Weaving – May 30th 1:30pm to 3:30pm – Free tickets available at Darwen Library (limited places)
  • Games for everyone – May 31st 10am to 4pm
  • Story and Rhyme Time – May 31st 10:30am
  • Digiplay – June 1st 10:30am to 1:30pm
  • Story Time – June 1st 11am

Blackburn Library:

  • Weaving – May 30th 10am to 12pm – Free tickets available at Blackburn Library (limited places)

Mill Hill Community Centre:

Cherry Tree Library:

  • Football Origami – May 29th 2 to 4pm Free Tickets available at Cherry Tree Library

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is once again working in partnership with local company Culturapedia bringing you an array of activities for all the family over the half term break.

Blackburn Market

  • Arabic Calligraphy workshop – May 29th 11am to 3:00pm
  • The Elves and the Shoemaker – May 21st 11am to 3:00pm
  • Hodman & Sally Walking Performance – June 1st 11am to 3:00pm

Darwen Market

  • Arabic Calligraphy workshop – May 25th 11am to 3:00pm
  • The Elves and the Shoemaker- May 29th 11am to 3:00pm

Super Slow Way:

Super Slow Way is an arts programme in Pennine Lancashire which covers 20 miles of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. They are hosting various activities over the half term break for you and your family to enjoy.

Blackburn Museum:

Blackburn Museum which is home to some fascinating collections including manufacturing and industry, coins, social and natural history. The Museum will be hosting free half term workshops from Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 4:45pm. 

  • Screen printing – 28th to 30th May 12pm to 3pm
  • The Making Rooms X BM&AG – 28th and 30th May 12pm to 3pm
  • Get crafty and Museum activities.  28th May to 1st June 11am to 4pm
