An event is taking place in April to raise awareness of bowel cancer, and information on signs and symptoms.

Organised by the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme in partnership with Cancer Research UK, it will take place on Monday, April 20 outside Blackburn Town Hall, from 10am – 4pm.

The ‘Big Bowel Roadshow’ will include a large inflatable bowel on display to help explain the inner workings and signs and symptoms to look out for.

There will also be Free Health Advice, Information on Signs and Symptoms, help and advice about the test kit and an opportunity to chat to a Cancer Awareness Nurse.

Bowel Cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK and when it comes to cancer deaths, it’s the second biggest killer. It affects men and women, particularly those who are over 60. However the sooner it is diagnosed, the better the chances are of survival.

The event is one of 8 roadshows across Lancashire which are taking place in the month of April.
