Young adults are being encouraged to attend Blackburn with Darwen’s new and exciting Career Roadshow.

This is a free event aimed at those looking for advice and support when choosing their career path.

Following huge success from the Employment, Skills and Support Hub’s Job Clubs, young adults aged 16-25 can attend a series of roadshows across five different locations in Blackburn and Darwen.

The five-day event is for those who are uncertain about their career paths this includes recent graduates, individuals exploring volunteering opportunities, and those looking to upskill and enhance their career prospects.

This initiative aims to provide valuable career advice, guidance, and opportunities for young adults in our community.

It starts on Monday, 15th July and there will be sector-specific presentations throughout the day at each location, running over four weeks.

Hilary Jenkins-Beard, Skills and Quality Manager at Blackburn with Darwen, said:

This is a fantastic opportunity for young adults in the borough and is an event not to be missed and by attending this event it could make a significant difference to the young people in our community. Everyone is welcome and it will be a great roadshow for people to get the support that they need.

Councillor Julie Gunn, Executive Member for Children, Young People & Education, said:

This is a great opportunity for our young adults to receive the support that they need when choosing a job for the future. It can be quite difficult for some people to choose a career, but they can get some valuable advice and guidance at the Career Roadshow. There will be various organisations promoting courses, career advice, guidance, and expertise in different career paths, all eager to support our young adults which is exciting. I would encourage as many people as possible to attend.
