The local elections are taking place on Thursday, May 4th.
Residents will be going to the polls to elect Councillors to Blackburn with Darwen Council in 17 wards.
The deadline for receiving applications to register to vote is Monday, April 17th.
This is fast approaching, with less than 3 weeks to go, but you can register to vote in around 5 minutes.
When you do this, you get the chance to have a major influence in decisions that affect you – and registering to vote can also improve your credit score!
This could help in a whole range of situations including buying a car or securing a mortgage.
If you are already registered to vote and plan to vote in person at a polling station, there is no need to re-register.
