This weekend, Saturday November 8th, residents within Darwen, Hoddlesden and Belmont will be able to freely dispose of items of domestic bulky waste.
Fully staffed caged vehicles will collect residents waste on High Street in Belmont and Bright Street in Darwen from 9 am – 10 am.
Whilst later in the morning the vehicles will be available for waste collection at the junction of Carus Avenue and Chapman Road, Hoddlesden and the junction of Ratcliffe Street and Lilly Street, Darwen from 10:45 am – 11:45 am.
This free collection service by the Borough Council across Blackburn with Darwen will run until early January 2015, with more locations to be announced over the coming weeks.
Examples of the types of rubbish that can be disposed are carpets, broken furniture and general bagged rubbish, whilst items such as plasterboard and asbestos roofing will not be accepted.
