Community clean up teams did their bit for the borough as they grabbed their bags to tidy up ahead of the first national Festival of Making.
Clean up teams have been out and about to get Blackburn gleaming as it gears up for the first national Festival of Making.
In the spirit of the Your Call scheme, which brings people together to make a difference to the borough, groups of children and teachers from St Stephen’s Primary School in Robinson Street and Islamiyah School in Willow Street, both in Little Harwood, were joined by residents in a litter pick around St Stephen’s school and church.
A community group at the Blakewater Estate was joined by The Mayor of Blackburn, Councillor Hussain Akhtar, as they picked rubbish in the area around Swift Close, filling dozens of bags of rubbish.
The Festival of Making takes place on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7 in and around Blackburn town centre.
There is a huge programme for all the family, as well as great food, markets, music, dance and entertainment.
