The Council is delighted to announce that its ambitious new Local Plan has taken another major step forward, helping to secure on-going housing, employment, environmental and infrastructure improvements for the next 15 years.
Following public hearings during February and March this year, the Council has now received initial advice from the Government Inspectors providing support for the overall growth strategy, which includes the strategic employment site off Junction 5 of the M65.

This is very good news for progression of the new Plan, and is a testament to the thorough and professional job of the whole team involved.
This news keeps the Council on track for potential adoption of the new Plan this winter, following a final consultation on modifications during the summer and issue of the Inspectors final report.
