Clinical exercise physiologist Mark Campbell, who’s work is funded by Blackburn with Darwen CCG, works in cardiac rehabilitation in the borough and designs and prescribes cardiovascular and strength training programmes for patients.
He won a national scholarship from the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) in 2013 for £1500 for a working trip anywhere in the world.
Mark chose the Baylor Heart Hospital in Dallas, Texas which he regards as “one of the most innovative hospitals in the world” where he spent two weeks in 2014 with Dr Jenny Adams and her cardiac rehabilitation team.
During his time Mark worked with a professional skydiver on his bespoke rehabilitation programme.
