Leader’s delight for award winning business

Cllr Mohammed Khan has extended his congratulations on behalf of Blackburn with Darwen Council to a local firm who’ve been honoured in an awards scheme backed by The Queen.

Simply Doughnuts were amongst the winners of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise announced this week, having been recognised in the innovation category.

The Blackburn with Darwen-based manufacturer, whose headquarters are at Furthergate Industrial Estate, produce long shelf life doughnuts, which stay fresh for up to 20 days.

Councillor Mohammed Khan, Leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council, said:

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is one of the most prestigious business accolades in the country so we are extremely proud to have a recipient come from Blackburn with Darwen.
