Organisations are being invited to partner with Blackburn with Darwen Council and give a boost to Green Lane Multi-Games Area.

The play area, next to Greenfields Community Centre on Green Lane in Blackburn, has been subject to vandalism in recent years and is now in a poor condition. The Council is looking for a community partner that will be able to support redevelopment and improvement of the site and attract funding required to build it back up to a space that children, families and all residents can enjoy.

The Green Lane MUGA is currently an informal play space for ball games on Green Lane, located in the Meadowhead ward of Blackburn. It is open-access to the local community for informal play 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Groups are invited to discuss how they would give the community play area an new lease of life and open it up again fully for all residents, engage the whole community and offer a plan for maintenance and development of the site.

Invitation to tender for the Community Asset Transfer will run until Friday, September 8th.

The tender is accessible from The Chest: www.the-chest.org.uk. Groups will need to be registered to access and submit an expression of interest.
