Turtle power is set to take over Blackburn town centre next month.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello will be performing at the lights switch on Thursday, November 20.

The heroes in a half-shell will be part of the festive cheer at the King William Street event, which includes an array of performers including X Factor superstar twins Jedward.

Otherwise known as John and Edward Grimes, the duo will be flicking the switch outside the town hall at 7pm.

Rock FM will once again be hosting an evening of music and madness starting at 4.45pm.

Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowall will be lighting up Darwen on Saturday, November 22 at 6.30pm. The fun starts at 4pm.

The line-up at Blackburn also includes Janet Devlin and Harry Mondryk, while James Smith and Harry will also be entertaining the crowds at Darwen.

Councillor Maureen Bateson, Executive Member for Regeneration, said:

“The lights switch on this year is going to be a fantastic event. I am sure the Turtles will be a huge attraction for children and families.”
