Have you ever found an interesting object while metal detecting, walking or digging in the garden? Do you have an unknown object and would like to find out more?

If so, why not bring your discovery to the Level 2 Research Room at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery on Wednesday 26 September 2018. The museum’s Curator of History will be available to help answer object enquiries and Portable Antiquities Finds Officer, Stuart Noon, will be on hand to identify your archaeological finds and record those over 300 years old. Sessions are run bi-monthly.

The Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) is a national programme co-ordinated by the British Museum. It assists with the identification and recording of archaeological finds discovered by members of the public. To find out more about the Portable Antiquities Scheme visit https://finds.org.uk/ .

Level 2 is our space for Focused Study, Special Events and Hands On experiences. Find out more here: https://blackburnmuseum.org.uk/collections/level-2-research-room-object-handling/.
