City Bid: Message from Leader and Chief Executive

Denise Park & Cllr Mohammed Khan CBEThe last two years have been incredibly tough for us all. But we have all pulled together to fight this virus and its impact.  Now we can look towards the future. The Council is delivering for you but want to start a conversation with its residents, businesses and partner organisations to see what matters to them as we move into a post pandemic world.

This feedback will be used to help shape our plan for the borough, our corporate plan, for the next few years.

The plan will set out how we will improve the lives of residents’ in the borough, support our brilliant businesses and deliver high quality services. Look out for opportunities to get involved and have your say. We are looking at publishing a refreshed corporate plan in summer.

In December 2021, Blackburn officially submitted its bid to become a city through the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We heard remarkable stories from residents and those connected with the town.

We would love to continue to hear from you. If you would like to submit a comment about why you are backing Blackburn’s bid for city status then please get in touch with our communications team. You can email us: prandcommunications@blackburn.gov.uk
