Shuttle Extra is back and for the first time it’s a 62-page magazine!
It’s packed full of news from right across the borough, features on key issues in Blackburn with Darwen and there’s not one, not two, but three different chances to win top prizes – including a six month gym pass and brand new iPad.
Blackburn’s MasterChef finalist, Moonira Hinglotwala is tackling food waste issues on the front page and there’s an interview with former Apprentice star Camilla Ainsworth, who’s helping put Blackburn on the map with her new nut milk.
You can also read all about this year’s Festival of Making, our campaign for a statue to celebrate the legacy of Barbara Castle and find out what it’s really like to be a foster carer.
The magazine features developments from right across the area, including updates on the £1.5m transformation of Darwen Market Square and Reel Cinema – being built on the former Waves site.
It showcases the work of the Council right across the borough and there’s a special feature rounding-up the 20th anniversary celebrations.
The new-look magazine is being used as a pilot and residents are being asked to have their say on what they like and don’t like about it and how they’d like the Council to communicate with them in the future.
The new format has been chosen to help attract advertisers to contribute towards the cost and has given our own services the opportunity to promote what they do to all residents in the borough – with a copy being hand delivered to every home.
If you don’t live in Blackburn with Darwen, you can read the Shuttle Extra online.
Printed copies are also available at Council buildings across the area – including the town halls, libraries and leisure centres.
