Bank Top Community Garden will be hosting an Afternoon Cream tea to help the victims of the Nepal Earthquake next week.
To be held on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 the cream tea will feature traditional English tea with homemade scones served with lashings of fresh cream and organic jam.
The tea will also feature a charity raffle that has for its first prize a ten inch tablet computer.
Earlier this year Nepal was hit by a series of devastating earthquakes that has left many thousands homeless and many towns and villages destroyed.
Councillor Yusuf Jan – Virmani Executive Member for Neighbourhoods, Housing and Customer services said:
“It is vital that as a community we do all we can to support the people of Nepal in any which way we can. I ask all residents to consider donating to any charity that are trying to help Nepal and the Nepalese people recover from such devastating acts of nature.”
The tea will take place from 12 noon till 4 pm and will cost £1.50.
