A main electricity cable has overheated in Blackburn Central library and now needs to be completely replaced.
It means there is no electricity in the Library and a decision has been made to close the building. A Utilities Engineer is now on site assessing the damage.
As a result, Citizens Advice Service staff have closed for the day and sent their staff home.
The Coroners are making alternative arrangements at the hospital and Health Living staff have temporarily moved to KGH.
Anyone wishing to renew books can go to main door or contact Darwen Library on 706021.
Alternative Libraries open today are:-
- Darwen Library open till 7pm tonight.
- Mill Hill open till 12:30pm.
- Livesey Library open 2pm – 7pm tonight.
- Roman Road Library open 2pm – 7pm tonight.
We apologise for inconvenience and hope that services will return to normal tomorrow.
