Visitors to Sunnyhurst Wood in Darwen are advised that the car park is currently closed.
The decision was taken in order to allow United Utilities to carry out work following the recent land slippage.
Work has intensified at the site after a second smaller land slippage on August 11 followed the first one at the beginning of the month.
Both are thought to have been caused by heavy rain.
The second slippage has meant that some additional paths have had to be closed and United Utilities say that work at the site could take up to six months to complete.
However, the company has worked to ensure people can still visit the woods and they estimate that the car park will reopen this Friday (August 19).
